Prepare your skin for Summer in Spring…
After the long icy cold Winter we’ve had, it’s time to do some repair and correction to our skin, ready for the hotter months ahead.
How do we do this?
Apart from cleansing morning and night (how many of you do this?), the following steps are the basis of skin preparation, repair and protection…
Exfoliation: We need to remove all that dry skin that excessive heating and cold temperatures has caused during Winter.
Once a week exfoliating on the same is ideal. This will encourage new fresh skin to appear and prepare it for the next steps.
Or, book in a course of salon treatments to provide you with a deeper exfoliation using Glycolic/Lactic peels or Microdermabrasion Skin Polish.
Hydration: Our skin can produce its own hydration, however, during Winter and as we age, the skin’s ability to do this is compromised. Using a Hyaluronic Acid serum will replace this lost hydration by attracting and holding moisture within the Dermis, allowing the skin to become supple, firm and elastic, and of course hydrated!
Moisturiser: During the warmer months a lighter treatment cream is recommended. Choose a product aimed at antiaging, repair and protection.
SPF 50+: Use a SPF50+ sunscreen/block which has a very high protection broad spectrum. This is the best way to fight premature aging of the skin forever as well as for fighting some skin cancers.
These are available as a clear sunscreen with Vitamin E, water resistant, spreads easily and highly absorbent.
SPF50+ foundation creams come in 3 shades, easy to apply and hide blemishes while transforming your face with a beautiful healthy glow!
Note: SPF50+ should be used daily all year round.
In addition to the above, we advise that you throw away any skin care products that have expired, or that you have had for over 6 months. These products can host bacteria, leading to skin issues and clogged pores you don’t need!
Replace these with a skin care range suited to your skin type and condition.
